Why do people still lose teeth?

Most teeth are lost as a result of uncontrolled progression of dental caries and periodontal diseases. Not surprisingly, tooth loss can be prevented through education, early diagnosis, and regular dental care.

How does complete tooth loss affect a person?

Loss of all natural teeth can contribute to a person's psychological, social, and physical impairment. Even when missing teeth are replaced with well-constructed dentures, there may be limitations in speech, chewing ability, taste perception, and overall quality of life.

What are Dentures?

Dentures are removable, natural-looking replacement teeth. Dentures can help correct pronunciation and chewing problems caused by missing teeth, as well as add support to facial muscles and prevent remaining teeth from shifting. While there are many different types of dentures, they all use your gums and/or teeth for support. Therefore frequently there are plastic or metal arms that must go around the teeth to support the denture.
